God is everywhere..
recently talked with one of our students who traveled to Jerusalem and found his remarks to be very interesting....he stated although the people of Israel have commercialized so many of the biblical landmarks, you can still feel a certain holiness in the holy city. I just sat down at my computer and thought about that as I am listening to the lyrics of "there is a sweet anointing in this sanctuary." It suddenly dawned on me the reason why there is a certain holiness to the city as my brother says, it's because, God is there! He is here with us as He is there in his holy city of Jerusalem. He left his footprints all over the land of Israel, he immersed in the Jordan with John's help, slept on the galilee while a storm was raging, he ate from the unleavened bread baked by hebrew women, drank wine made from grapes of the vineyards outside of Jerusalem, slept in the small holes dugged into the walls of Jerusalem, walked the steps going up and down the city of David, walked by the pool of Bethesda and set free a guy invalid for 38 years and if that was not enough, he went to the garden of gethesmane and on a certain rock cried tears of blood because of the heavy burden he carried in his heart for mankind. Indeed, there should be a certain holiness in the place, because Jesus Christ, the Son of God trudge up the via dolorosa carrying a cross to a death He did not deserve, ahhhh...but on that early dawn, the stone rolled itself away and the one who made the stone walked out ALIVE FOREVER! God is in his holy city, God is here........there will always be a certain holiness there because God's Son personally walked there......HE LEFT A MARK NO MAN CAN COVER...
