make the time...

woke up this morning and thought about many things, the one thing that stands out in my mind is for me to make time for God, for my family and for me. The truth is we gotta make time for many things, did you know that you also gotta make time to forgive a person? yes, we do! so how do we do that? well, in John 4: there is a beautiful story of how Jesus made time for himself, I believe that although many people preach and say Jesus took time off so he can meet the woman at the well, I kinda have a different take on that. I believe, of course, this is mine alone, HE made time for himself to rest a bit and catch his breath from the long trip, he must have sat at the well, closed his eyes for 5 minutes and just rest. When He was ready to go again, He saw someone approaching the well, and by the way she hung her head low and even the time she was coming to the well, let Him know that she was in need of some kind of help. Oh yeah, I don't doubt that Jesus knew everything about her, but, the truth of the matter is, Jesus who is God, also was human. He was tired from the trip and He rested because He knew the trip took some great big chunk of energy out of Him. He needed rest to recuperate and then go again. By Jesus making time for himself, one woman found forgiveness and got a new start. One instructor said, and I am totally supportive of this, he said, when you are tired do not go out and try to minister to someone, take a 10 minute break, breathe, breathe, breathe, close your eyes a bit, hey, it's okay if you take a 10 minute power nap.... then, when you feel refreshed, get up and get going again.

Am I doing this now? yes! at the cost of people misunderstanding my actions, I do it because I know I need it.
