what are we doing to ourselves?
It suddenly dawned on me, that maybe the so-called bible teaching we are doing in Sunday Schools as well as Bible Studies maybe doing us more harm than good. Oh, oh, don't get all red in the ears, but hear me out. If we listen very closely to most Bible Teachers which I am including myself in this little circle, when we teach or preach, it's like we are delivering motivational speeches, they are fine and I am not saying they are bad, BUT! if one of us asks our students a very simple question like, who is King David? I guarantee you they will not know the answer. It doesn't matter if they are singing, jumping, shouting the name of Jesus, most of them have to think for a good 10 minutes before they can give an answer that is totally wrong. That's why I am asking, what are we doing to ourselves? I am encouraging all of us teachers as well as preachers of the Word of God, let's get back to teaching the Word of God as a whole, not pieces from here and there, what I mean is book by book, memorization is great. I love it! Gotta get back to doing it again. That's what God meant when He told Moses, have the children of Israel put His Word in their minds, mouths and ears. I think it was sometime last year, I heard one of the best teachers of the Word of God teach on the Book of Acts, the whole class recited from memory the outline of the book of Acts, it was moving, why? because that is of God. He is His Word!
