the transparency of our testimony

I have just finished watching a very old film powerfully acted out by veteran actors like Henry Fonda, Walter Pidgeon and others, the plot of the story centers around politicians in congress and how they work to bring each other down as well as put each other up by doing all kinds of things. The storyline is about a man played by Henry Fonda who was being nominated by the President to be the Secretary of State. There were senate hearings to see if this man will be confirmed and during these hearings it was found out that the man was involved with communism activities in the early days of his life. There were many things that happened all because of these confirmation hearings, the man was found guilty of lying when he said he was not involved in communism and in the hopes of having their man confirmed, some politicians fell into tactics that were demeaning and many skeletons in other people's closets, people who were involved in the hearings were opened up. But, the one thing that grabbed my attention was when the nominee went back to the President and told him to please withdraw his name and then he told the President he lied. He was invited by some of his college buddies to go to the communist meetings with them in his younger years. He went a couple of times and when he found out what the meetings were about, he never went back. but, because he entertained the thought of communism during his youth, his career in politics is now hanging by the thread, even though he was now in an influential position or as they say at the top of his game. His loyalty to his country was also being questioned. This is so like the devil, he will seduce our minds with lies and if we are not careful we can end up entertaining those lies in our minds and later on find that we should not have done it at all. The other thing that happens is, when we become born again christians and serving the Lord diligently, the devil will use someone to dig up those old lies to falsely accuse us to the point where our loyalty to our Lord Jesus Christ is questioned. Now, if you ever find yourself in that situation, than the transparency of your testimony is the best way to go..
(1) tell the truth for Jesus said it will set us free
(2) be steadfast for the Lord will give you the right words to speak
(3) Remember God's love for you, He will never leave you nor forsake you.
